BPOE 1842 Honor Guard

Our honor guard was established in 2023, after receiving authorization from the Alaska State Elks’ Association.  It has fully developed over a very short time and is now supplying “Honors and Color Guard” services from Talkeetna to Anchorage.

We currently have 28 fully uniformed, veteran members trained to conduct the ceremonies. We proudly and respectfully provide these services for any, honorably discharged, deceased veterans, and by government regulation, these final tributes are provided at no charge.  This is the “Highest Honor” our government can award our military men & women. Our ceremonies include:

  • Rifle Salutes
  • Flag folding and presentation to the Family
  • Bugler for sounding the Final Taps

The honors ceremony does not have to immediately follow the passing of the veteran, it can only be presented one time, but can be awarded years later.  We can coordinate these ceremonies, with churches, civic clubs, veteran organizations, or family groups that want to hold a “celebration of life” at a private residence.  We also are equipped to provide “Color Guard”, flag posting for the opening or closing of organized ceremonies, conventions, games and competitions, and memorial services.
